Kel has just become the new Australian Champion at the 2007 Rotax Nationals
held at the Ipswich Kart club 02/09/2007.

Starting from pole position after an incredable performance in the pre final,
saw Kel forced back to fourth position after the second corner giving the
former National Champion William Yarwood about a twenty metre lead.

With two karts in front of him and a large gap to Yarwood, Kel put his head
down and within two laps had moved into second place. Four more laps saw
Kel run down Yarwood with an unbelievable piece of skilled driving which
impressed the Karting industry elite who watched on. On the sixth lap Kel
slipped inside Yarwood in the second corner with millimetres between them
without any contact.

Kel with such determination then proceeded to drive away streaching the gap
with Yarwood to about twenty metres. A small mistake in the braking area by
Kel saw Yarwood half the gap with four laps to go however Kel kept it together
with more consistent lap speed and streached the gap back to twenty metres as
he crossed the line to take the win and become the New Australian Champion
for 2007.
